Producing technical communication



There are many types of services that technical writers can provide to the intended audiences. The following are brief outlines of some:

  • Brochures

    A brochure or pamphlet is a leaflet advertisement. Brochures are used to advertise locations, events, hotels, products, services, etc.

    They are designed to appeal to the eye and the text provides the “hook.” Brochures are used in “Direct mail” send outs and are usually available at trade shows for handing out in order to advertise and or introduce products or services.

    Other places where brochures abound are hotels and places where tourists frequent. The brochures are housed in special racks or stands and provide information on amusement parks, movie houses, restaurants, landmarks and other points of interest.

    The two most common brochure styles are single sheet and the booklet form.
