Technical Communication 4U Bulletin Newsletter

The Year of the Pig has turned into the year of our baby - the Bulletin Newsletter from Technical-Communication-4u.

In China the Chinese hospitals have been submerged in recent months under a tidal wave of pregnant women delivering newborns.

The main reason for this is because according to Chinese traditions, the Year of the Pig is a great year to be born.

Word is that parents who have children born under the pig's patronage will benefit from the animal's image as fat, happy and prosperous. People who planned having babies during the Year of the Pig planned for good fortune.

We don't live in China nor are we Chinese however, we certainly share in the hope for good fortune for our baby.

Legends of Technical Communication

reading interesting information The 21st century has introduced many new technologies people could only dream of decades ago. New business and industries have evolved almost as rapidly as the technological changes and yet some things resist change.

One thing that resists change are the various myths or legends that our enlightened society holds on to.

Technical communication provides all of us a means to inform the reader about issues that interests him or her and yet some individuals continue to believe that people don't like to read.

The myth is people only read a few lines so writing something that is more elaborate is a waste of time. This is pure blarney, people read whatever catches their interest no matter how short or long.

Another tall tale doing the rounds is that if you are a small business person that any publicity is good publicity for your enterprise. The truth is badly written and designed publicity is bad for your business.

Still another bit of bunk is, if your business is selling some new technological marvel make sure that you include loads of technical information in your sales letter. The myth is if you do then your prospect will be so impressed that he will buy.

Don't waste their time with your information overload, just be brief and give the facts. Tell them what your marvel can do for them and why they should choose it instead of your competitor's.
